Your books, reconciledand up to date.
A local bookkeeper in Burgess Hill who records every transaction, matches it to your bank and keeps your figures ready for VAT returns, year-end accounts and HMRC.
Doing the books yourself feels like a saving. Over a year, a bookkeeper usually saves you more, in money and in time.
You make fewer mistakes, you get the experience of someone who keeps books for lots of other businesses, and you don't miss HMRC payments or tax deadlines. Add tax planning and regular reports and it's one of the best decisions a small business can make.
We start by looking at how you keep records now, then agree what needs to change and get you there quickly, with as little disruption as possible. If your habits are already good, we can take a light touch and just check your entries and sort out the unusual ones.

Every bank line, matched.
That's reconciliation: checking each line on your bank statement against a receipt or invoice in your books. We do it for you, so mistakes get caught early and your figures are right when you need them.

Bookkeeping, answered.
The questions people ask us most. If yours isn't here, ring us and you'll get a straight answer.
It's recording every financial transaction in your business: everything you spend and everything you receive. It used to be done in ledgers, cashbooks and daybooks. Now it's done in software like Xero, which connects to your bank.
Accurate books show whether you're making more than you spend, warn you before cash runs short and catch wrong payments or fraud. They make your tax return accurate, and they make it much easier to talk to lenders and investors.
It's checking your bank statement against your books, so every transaction and the balance match. The sooner you reconcile, the sooner you spot a mistake, so doing it often stops the work piling up.
Mostly Xero, which pulls your bank transactions in automatically and has a handy phone app. We also work with QuickBooks and FreeAgent.
From £27.50 + VAT a month for up to 40 transactions, then 50p for each extra one. Bookkeeping is an add-on, so your quote includes your accounts and tax returns as well.

No. For sole traders who use our service, we prepare and file the tax return, tell you how much you owe and deal with any questions HMRC raises.
Usually photo ID, your date of birth, address and proof of address, phone number, National Insurance number, company name and number, UTR, VAT number and your last tax return. Some won't apply to you, and we'll tell you exactly what we need.
It means keeping your records in software such as Xero. VAT-registered businesses already do, and from 6 April 2026 sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 send HMRC quarterly updates too.
