Since 18 November 2025, company directors and people with significant control have to verify their identity with Companies House. As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, we check your documents, verify you and get your personal code issued.

Who has to verify, and by when.
The rules come from the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, and they apply to every company on the register, from a one-person contractor to a family firm.
New directors must verify before they can be appointed. Existing directors give their personal code when the company files its next confirmation statement. People with significant control (PSCs) get a 14-day window to give theirs.
Miss it and you may be committing an offence, and the company can't file its confirmation statement until every director has verified.

Your documents

Once you're verified, Companies House issues your personal code. It belongs to you, not the company, so keep it somewhere safe.

Linked to your company
The code goes on the company's next confirmation statement, or on your appointment if you're a new director. We can file it and send you a verification certificate.

What to bring us.
We'll tell you exactly which documents you need before you start. Usually it's one from each list.
Photo ID
A valid passport or a UK photocard driving licence. EU national identity cards are accepted too.
Proof of address
A utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill or mortgage statement from the last 3 months.
If it applies to you
A recent photo if your ID doesn't have one, proof of a name change, or extra documents if you live overseas.

Yes. You get a verification certificate for your records, we submit to Companies House where needed and we keep your documents securely.
You may be committing an offence, which can lead to a fine or prosecution, and Companies House may note it against your name on the public register. The company also can't file its confirmation statement until all its directors have verified.
